Quality of Life Forecast: Good Times Ahead

imageIt's been a great few weeks (or possibly even months). Golfing, Gisledagarna, Linköping, Flogging Molly and Foo Fighters in Stockholm, Midsummer and just general cosiness. And more. I've had a blast and now I've only got four more days of work until my summer vacation. Hopefully the good times will keep on rolling, and right now I see no reason they shouldn't. At least the plans for the summer are hinting in that direction. Linköping, Copenhagen and Barcelona are more or less planned and there's a high probability of Halmstad or some other west coast city as well.

The self improvement plan is working well too, and I'm almost down to 78kg and feeling great. There's still some need of improvements, but those are just minor details now. It's been a long road but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'll try to get some pictures up eventually, but that's for another time. Need to get ready for work. 4 days and counting.. :3

I'm lazy and I know it.

Well, it's been ages (again) since I did any real updating, so I guess it's about time. Not that I have anything particularly interesting to write about, but that shouldn't be very surprising.

I think I'm in love with the Teaching Company (now known as The Great Courses) lectures. I felt like I needed a break from fiction books and tried a lecture series on relativity and quantum mechanics, and then another on particle physics. Now I'm listening to a series on psychology and I actually look forward to getting to work or going out for a walk just so I can continue listening.. and I've got another ~45GB of lectures in queue, so the good times will last quite a while. :3

Oh, and I've gone and got myself a new hobby: golf. When Emil suggested we should go play some I figured it could be fun every once in a while, but now I'm hooked. I bought some clubs and a bag, and even one of those gay gloves, so I feel like a real amateur golfer. Not that I'm particularly good at it, but it's nice to have something to do that actually involves being outside in the sun, other than drinking beer.

The weight's going steadily downwards, although it's been slow these last few months. Then again I've been rather lax on both diet and exercise, but we've got these pedometers (hurr hurr) at work and they do wonders to inverted motivation. It's not that I feel like I want to get super high numbers on the excel sheet (shared with everyone), but there's some shame factor in having too low numbers, so even if I don't really feel like going for a walk I try to get my ass out of the chair just to touch up the numbers so they are at least average. Still, a poor excuse is better than none at all. I've still got a couple of kilos to go before reaching my primary goal (under 80kgs before summer), but there's nearly two months to go so it shouldn't be a problem. :)

Time's ticking away and I should get my ass in bed. Hopefully I won't be as lazy with the updates, but as always that's probably just wishful thinking. :P

Assorted party pictures

Felt like I needed to post something, so here's some pictures from the St. Patrick's Day celebrations and Teijo's miniature get-together.

Summer of Kilting

imageSummer's around the corner (although be it a large corner, probably with a whole lot of obstacles to mow down), so it's time to start preparations. Since our plans for kilting in Amsterdam went down the drain, this year I want to make sure I've got one ready for whenever it's needed. I'm not sure what I'll do for key/money storage, since I don't really like the sporrans (look too much like a lady's purse (and it's bad enough running around in a skirt-look-alike)), but one of these could be a more manly alternative. Then again, I could always carry a shoulder bag, but that feels like a hassle. I'll figure it out one way or another.
